A viral outbreak has devastated the global population, resulting in the undead outnumbering humans ten thousand to one. As resources crumble and death tolls rise, animosity grows even among humans themselves, making a clear enemy impossible to distinguish. At the end of civilization, as the undead gain in numbers, everyday becomes a struggle to survive.
At the center of this human struggle is John Knox, a man left for dead who finds himself rescued by members of a survivor camp. Knox must prove his worth and rise above suspicion before he is completely accepted by his rescuers. This accomplished, he is integrated into their makeshift society, finding in it a new family. Peace is short lived when an attack by a rival faction of ex-military raiders leaves the survivor camp devastated. It is up to Knox and those who survive the attack to gather resources and launch an all-or-nothing rescue mission on the raiders' fortress.
Production began in October 2010 and ended late that same month, although small filler shots were underway thereafter. Post-production began as of December 2010; scheduled release date was March 2011. The film had its world premiere on March 31, 2011.
